Carlos Hyde played with a torn labrum throughout the 2019 season

New Seattle Seahawks running back Carlos Hyde played throughout the best season of his career last year with a torn labrum, including the postseason, per NFL Network’s Michael Silver.

“More on Carlos Hyde, who signed with the Seahawks today: In February, the RB underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder.” Silver tweeted. “Hyde played through the injury throughout 2019 for the Texans and exacerbated it in the playoff defeat to the Chiefs.”

Hyde totaled 1,070 rushing yards on 245 carries while splitting duties with Duke Johnson in 2019. He is expected to return fully healthy in 2020, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

The veteran running back now enters his seventh season in the NFL and joins a dynamic but fragile backfield featuring Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny, who are both coming off of season-ending injuries.

Hyde had surgery to repair his labrum in February, so he should settle back in steadily as one of multiple options in the Seahawks backfield should his recovery be complete.
