Carlos Alcaraz has celebrated his US Open triumph with another trip to the barbers.
The Spaniard set tongues wagging at the beginning of the tournament, having shaved his bonce down to a buzzcut. And a buzz it did cause, as after his first-round win he asked those in attendance inside the Arthur Ashe Stadium if they liked the close shave: “I got to ask the people if they like the new haircut or not. Did you like it, guys?” It was met with approval.
Alcaraz was later askled during the tournament if he planned to keep his new look, and teased: “You will see. Surprise.”
Well, consider us surprised as Alcaraz, who is again ranked world no1 after downing Jannik Sinner in Sunday’s showpiece, has changed his lid once again.

After lifting the silver trophy on Sunday, Alcaraz has gone platinum blonde on top.
Posting on Instagram, Alcaraz’s personal barber wrote: “Back to No. 1 again and a new look. Carlos we’re crazy.” Alcaraz also charted the journey from dark to light on his social media channels.
Alcaraz had earlier celebrated his US Open success with a party in Manhattan ahead of taking time off to enjoy his sixth slam title, but attention will soon turn to winning the Australia Open and completing the career grand slam.
"It's my first goal, to be honest," said Alcaraz. "Obviously I'm going to try to do it next year but, if it is not next year, hopefully in two and three and four. So I will try to complete it.”
