Carlo Walker claims his Dad’s Army team are one of the fittest around – even though they are one of the oldest.
Veteran poacher Andy Stevenson leads the way at 43 while 40-year-old Stuart Peacock is Maybole’s calming rock in defence.
Rab Patterson, who scored four and made one in a 6-0 rout of Lesmahagow, is 37 as is man of many clubs Paul Cameron.
James Cuthbertson, Craig Reid, Scott Dinwoodie and skipper Steven Crawford are all in their mid 30s, ensuring ‘Bole aren’t short of old heads.
The resurgent Ladywell men have left behind a horror start to the season to climb to joint third in the West of Scotland League’s Conference A.
And boss Walker wants them to aim high although he concedes top two Shotts and Arthurlie are looking a cut above.
Walker admits: “With so many good experienced players in our squad, this is a very easy side to coach.
“They all train hard and are very fit – in fact, I would back them against anybody. They give their all in every game and are a credit to the club.
“Andy just keeps on scoring and is incredible. He is always in the right place and makes finishing look easy.

“We had a run of Saturday away games in Glasgow at the start of the season which proved tough for us but we are now finding our feet.
“We’re certainly pushing for third place at least and although Shotts and Arthurlie look to be out of the equation we have still to play them both.”
Lesmahagow saw red after only three minutes and ‘Bole quickly cashed in when Stevenson turned home Patterson’s back post header.
Euan Smith, a babe of the team at 22, made it 2-0 before Patterson opened his haul with a header.
Patterson then slotted a penalty after rounding the keeper who pulled him down and was sent off.
The nine man visitors conceded two more as razor sharp Patterson put them to the sword.
Maybole will bid for four wins in a row when they head to Forth on Saturday with Jordan Banks, Michael Reilly and Cuthbertson all in the frame to return.
