Carlo Ancelotti to Real Madrid odds shrink as Everton fears grow

The odds of Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti moving to Real Madrid have drastically shrunk in recent hours.

The Blues manager is rumoured to be wanted by the La Liga club, as they look to replace Zinedine Zidane who announced he would be leaving the Spanish capital last week.

Ancelotti joined Everton in December 2019 and is contracted at Goodison Park until the summer of 2024.

According to Spanish news outlet Marca , Real have their sights on bringing Ancelotti to Madrid for a second term in charge of the club.

The report goes on to say that an official announcement confirming Ancelotti’s appointment will be made ‘in the next few hours’.

These reports have led to the bookies making Ancelotti the odds-on favourite to move to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

Ancelotti is 1/4 to become the new Real Madrid boss, via Oddschecker, and is the frontrunner of the other apparent candidates by some distance.

Next in the betting is Antonio Conte, who is 4/1 after leaving Inter Milan after their Serie A title win.

The comes Mauricio Pochettino at 8/1, who is rumoured to be keen on leaving Paris Saint-Germain and reuniting with Tottenham Hotspur.

As of now, these are just rumours and the ECHO are currently checking them out to see if there is any truth behind them.
