Carlo Ancelotti thinks Jose Mourinho has done a "fantastic job" wherever he has been.
The Everton boss has been full of praise for the Tottenham manager, despite the north London side's underwhelming season in the Premier League.
Spurs sit in seventh place in the Premier League as things stand, six points below London rivals West Ham United, who occupy fourth spot.
A shock exit in the Europa League at the hands of Dinamo Zagreb was perhaps the lowest point of the season for Mourinho and his squad, but they do have the opportunity to salvage something from the campaign.
Later this month, Spurs face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final - where the north London club will have the chance to secure their first bit of silverware since 2008.
Before they make the trip to Wembley, though, Spurs must face Everton on Friday evening - in a game that could have massive implications in the battle for the top four.
The Toffees sit a place below Spurs but know that a victory would see them leapfrog their opponents.
Mourinho will be determined to pick up a much-needed three points at Goodison Park to relieve some of the pressure on his shoulders, but his opposite number Ancelotti thinks he's doing a great job.
"Every manager tries to do his best," the Everton boss said in his pre-Tottenham press conference on Thursday.
"We try to do our best. I am not able to judge [Jose] Mourinho's job. In my opinion he always does a fantastic job.
"Pressure on a manager is normal. Every manager has to manage the pressure."
Ancelotti is expecting an attacking match on Friday night, with both teams in desperate need of three points.
The Italian added: "It will be an open game. They need points and we need points.
"They could score but we could score also. It is unpredictable to say what could happen."
