Carlo Ancelotti's Everton backroom staff confirmed and why Calvert-Lewin is ready for best season

Backroom staff

Everton confirmed Carlo Ancelotti's backroom staff before kick-off on Boxing Day.

The Italian's son, Davide, has been brought in as an assistant alongside Duncan Ferguson who will perform the same role.

Ancelotti has signed up Francesco Mauri as the first-team's new fitness coach while Alan Kelly, the under-23s goalkeeping coach who was part of Ferguson's caretaker team, has been retained by the new manager.

Everton have yet to confirm the appointment of analyst Simeone Montanaro but he was in place at Goodison for the game with Burnley.

Ancelotti coy on striker plans ahead of January transfer window

Cole-man for all seasons...and managers

A giant stat, courtesy of Gavin Buckland, was revealed at full-time after the win over Burnley.

Seamus Coleman is now the first player in Everton history to have taken the field under six different permanent managers.

Leighton Baines could join his fellow full-back if he gets a run-out under Carlo Ancelotti.

A “fantastic” striker - and one getting better

If the buzz of being Everton's match-winner wasn't enough then Dominic Calvert-Lewin was given an extra spring in his step when Ancelotti described him as “fantastic”.

The 22-year-old's expert diving header broke the deadlock against Burnley and got the Ancelotti era up and running.

It was Calvert-Lewin's sixth league goal of the season which means he has now matched last season's tally.

And with Ancelotti also offering some post-match tips on where he can improve – including being more selfish – the Blues' No9 will be, at the very least, targeting double figures for the first time in the Premier League.

Shoooooot!

Another big stat from Goodison yesterday, this time from Matt Cheetham.

For the first time in three years at the Old Lady, every outfield player that started the game attempted at least one shot.

The Blues mustered 21 in total although only five would be on target.
