Carlo Ancelotti reveals key Everton injury for Tottenham game as four stars return in huge boost

Everton will be without Dominic Calvert-Lewin for Friday's game against Tottenham.

Making a huge impression this season with 19 goals in 32 games in all competitions for the Toffees, the England international will be a huge miss for Carlo Ancelotti's men.

Absent earlier in the week against Brighton & Hove Albion, Richarlison instead lined up through the middle with James Rodriguez playing off the Brazilian.

It may be a case of more of the same for Everton at Goodison Park tomorrow evening, although the hosts do have Josh King to call upon once again after he missed out at the Amex on Monday.

Everton have been hit by a host of injuries at the club in recent weeks, with Yerry Mina the latest to join the big numbers in the treatment room after hobbling off against Brighton.

However, there is some good news for Ancelotti ahead of the match against Spurs with Jordan Pickford, Andre Gomes, Allan and King all confirmed fit for showdown on Merseyside.

"In a difficult moment, it is more difficult to manage this," said the Italian manager on his team's injuries, as reported by Liverpool Echo. "To have this kind of injury all at the same time is difficult (but) I think we can compete against Tottenham.

"All teams have this problem. The fitness of the team is good. The players that have come back after injury in a good condition. They are already fit."

On Calvert-Lewin's absence, he added: "The absence of Dominic is important but upfront we have options. We have done well without him in some games."

Already meeting twice this season with Everton coming out on top in both games, Jose Mourinho will be hoping it's third time lucky as Spurs bid to finish the season strongly.

The experienced head coach is under intense pressure at present given his team's poor form and Ancelotti was asked about the 58-year-old ahead of their meeting on Friday night.

"Every manager tried to do his best. We try to do our be," explained the former AC Milan boss. "I am not able to judge Mourinho's job. In my opinion he always does a fantastic job.

"Pressure on a manager is normal. Every manager has to manage the pressure."
