Carlo Ancelotti responds to bizarre James Rodriguez exit rumours at Everton

Carlo Ancelotti has dismissed rumours suggesting James Rodriguez is homesick and reiterated the player is happy at Everton.

The Blues confirmed the signing of the playmaker from Real Madrid in the summer, in a move that was later revealed to have no transfer fee attached to it.

Since then the Colombia international has made himself one of the most important, with five goals and three assists to his name in the Premier League already this term.

Recently, one particular rumour circulated that the player might be homesick and may want to leave Goodison Park, but the Everton boss dismissed this.

Ancelotti told his pre-Liverpool press conference: "Oh he's ok, he has no problem.

"I talk to him every day, he's happy here. He's confident, motivated.

"He had a little problem in the last few games with his calf, but now he's in a good condition. He really feels good here because everyone takes care of him and that's it.

"I don't know if he complains about the weather, but we know it's not the best weather ever! But there are a lot of things good in this area."

Everton travel to Anfield this weekend to take on Liverpool in the Merseyside derby, and will have the Colombia international available again after he was on the bench against Man City.

Ancelotti confirmed that a knock kept him from starting the game in midweek, but that the playmaker is almost fully fit again and raring to go.

"He had a knock [vs Man City] and he was not fit 100%," he added.

"No he's not 100%, but he's 99%."
