Carlo Ancelotti makes two Real Madrid line-up changes and sends 'message' ahead of Liverpool

Real Madrid have made two changes to their starting line-up for the Champions League last-16 second leg clash against Liverpool and Carlo Ancelotti is expecting 'more of the same'.

The reigning European champions hold a 5-2 lead over Liverpool after their fantastic display at Anfield in the first leg of the clash and the Reds will need to be at their absolute best to salvage anything in the Bernabeu.

After rumours of Karim Benzema possibly missing the tie between last year's finalists through injury, the Madrid captain leads the line for Ancelotti's side.

Liverpool flew out of the blocks at Anfield in the first leg and surged into a 2-0 lead thanks to Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah. Two goals from Vinicius Junior, Benzema and a header from Militao secured a commanding lead for Madrid.

Ancelotti spoke before kick-off at the Bernabeu: "The message is clear. We don’t have to do any calculations, what we have to do is play as well as we can. We have to go into the game in the same way as we did in the first leg."

Compared to the first leg against Liverpool, there are two changes for Madrid - with Toni Kroos coming into midfield, and Nacho starting at full-back.

Real Madrid: Courtois; Carvajal, Militao, Rudiger, Nacho; Kroos, Modric, Camavinga; Vinicius Jr, Valverde, Benzema.

Subs: Lunin, Vallejo, Hazard, Asensio, Odriozola, Lucas V, Tchouameni, Ceballos, Rodrygo, F. Mendy, Mariano, Alvaro.
