Carlo Ancelotti makes Richarlison claim as Everton manager earmarks areas to improve

Richarlison has the potential to become the latest "world class player" Carlo Ancelotti has managed.

The Brazilian put Everton back in front against Crystal Palace on Saturday with a fine solo goal on the counter-attack.

Richarlison's ninth strike of the season means he is closing in last season's league tally of 13 goals and his importance to the Blues has never been greater.

Ancelotti has stressed on a number of occasions that the 22-year-old needs to improve in key areas but has no doubt he could join an elite band of players the former Real Madrid and AC Milan coach has been in charge of.

"I enjoyed working with [Cristiano] Ronaldo because he was really professional, and he scored every single game," Ancelotti said with a smile.

"Richarlison is not yet at this level but I think every one of us enjoys having him at Everton.

"He’s young, he has to improve, he has to play with more consistency but he shows fantastic quality at counter attack, as a striker.

"The third goal he jumped and headed the ball fantastically.

"It depends on him but he can be a world class player, it depends only on him."
