Carlo Ancelotti makes new contract declaration after Everton stadium question

Carlo Ancelotti says he is "here, waiting" to sign a contract extension that would see him be Everton manager when the club move to a new stadium.

The Blues boss believes the new ground at Bramley-Moore Dock will be the "best in the world" when it opens, with Everton hoping to host a first competitive game there in August 2024.

Ancelotti's existing deal runs until the end of June that year and says he would relish the chance to still be in charge of the team when the 52,888 stadium opens.

Asked which is his favourite stadium in the world, apart from Goodison, Ancelotti talked about the Blues' future home, saying: "This will be the best stadium in the world."

And when asked how much it would mean to be manager at the new ground, he replied: "It means I have to sign a new contract because my contract expires on June 30, 2024 and they are saying the first game will be in August 2024.

"So I have to sign a new contract. I am here, waiting."

In a video posted on YouTube by the club, Ancelotti was also quizzed on how much he would be worth as a midfielder in the modern transfer market.

"Now, I think around £30-40m. This is the price for a good midfielder, how I was.

"I was a good midfielder, not top, so the price in the market is around £30-40m."
