Carlo Ancelotti handed fitness boost ahead of Everton trip to Chelsea

Everton look to have been handed an injury boost ahead of this weekend's trip to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Lucas Digne has missed both of his side's last two matches with a calf injury picked up in the build-up to last month's loss to Arsenal.

However, the French international was pictured back in training this week, with a video released by the club showing the left-back taking part in a session with the rest of his teammates.

The 26-year-old faced a late fitness test ahead of last Sunday's 1-1 draw with Manchester United but didn't make the squad, with Leighton Baines again starting in his stead.

Everton are expected to still be missing long-term absentees Jean-Philipppe Gbamin and Morgan Schneiderlin for this weekend's trip to London.

Carlo Ancelotti later confirmed that Seamus Coleman will miss this weekend's match after being taken off in the first half of Everton's draw with Manchester United last weekend.

Djibril Sidibe also left Goodison with some bandages on his hand and elbow on Sunday after a heavy fall to the side of the pitch in the second half, but the manager confirmed he trained on Thursday without issue and would be available against Chelsea.

Ancelotti will host his press conference at Finch Farm on Friday at 1:30pm and is expected to give further updates on potential injury issues.
