Everton face a "little bit of an emergency" at left-back following the injury to Fabian Delph but Carlo Ancelotti has talked up the performance of stand-in Ben Godfrey.
In the absence of Lucas Digne, Delph was picked to play wing-back at Burnley today but lasted less than half an hour after being forced off with a hamstring injury.
Ancelotti admits it was "disappointing" to see the 31-year-old succumb to yet another injury after being impressed with the £8.5m signing in training of late.
The Blues boss went to a back four and asked Godfrey - who has already played right-back and as part of a back three since joining the club - to go to left-back.
Niels Nkounkou, the 20-year-old French defender signed this summer, was not named in the matchday squad.
"He [Delph] had a problem on his hamstring so we are going to check in the next few days but I hope he can recover soon," Ancelotti said.
"It is a little disappointing because he was in a good condition and he has worked really well and I hope he can recover soon."
"We are in a little bit of an emergency there," Ancelotti added.
"But to see the performance today, Iwobi did really well, Ben Godfrey did really well on the left so, in this moment, we have to adapt some players.
"We have to be positive and we hope to recover soon, above all, Seamus. He will recover soon and we have to find a solution there [on the left] for sure."
Everton went behind to a third minute strike from Robbie Brady but levelled through Dominic Calvert-Lewin just before the break.
The Blues controlled much of the second-half but were unable to find an equaliser, with both goalkeepers making impressive stops late on.
"We have to accept the result because, above all, the start was not good and we had difficulties to come back into the game," he said.
"After 30 minutes, we were back. After that we had good control, we tried to win in the second-half, we had opportunities.
"Of course, we conceded some, we had some problems on the counter-attack and from set-pieces, but this is absolutely normal here. We have to accept the result because the performance was quite good."
