Carlo Ancelotti gives Jordan Pickford injury timescale as Everton keeper to miss Leeds United

Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that goalkeeper Jordan Pickford will miss Everton’s trip to Leeds United through injury.

The England number one banged his ribs making a save during the Blues 2-0 home defeat to Newcastle United and has been ruled out for their game at Elland Road.

But his manager hopes that he will recover in time to be considered for Saturday’s match against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Ancelotti said: “ Fabian Delph is back in the squad, Allan not yet, (Jean-Philippe) Gbamin not yet.

"And we are also without Pickford with a side injury.

“He will not be available for the game but I hope that for Saturday he will be available.

“I think it was a save at the end of the game against Newcastle. I think he touched the post and he had a problem on his rib.

Robin Olsen will start the game if nothing happens today.”

Pickford played 120 consecutive Premier League games for Everton after making his debut for the club in the competition against Stoke City in 2017.

But he was dropped for Olsen for a 2-1 defeat at Newcastle United on November 1.

The Sweden international, on loan from Serie A side Roma, has so far made five appearances for the Blues with his most recent outing being the 3-0 FA Cup fourth round victory at home to Sheffield Wednesday on January 24.
