Carlo Ancelotti gives James Rodriguez injury update after Everton substitution

Carlo Ancelotti has allayed fears over the latest injury to James Rodriguez.

The Colombian had returned from a calf injury to start against Fulham tonight but was forced off after 68 minutes in the 2-0 defeat.

Rodriguez looked to be in some pain after being on the end of a late tackle and after on-pitch treatment it was decided he could not continue and would be replaced by Bernard.

Ancelotti says Everton's medical department will assess the injury on Monday morning but does not believe the problem to be major.

The Blues welcome Manchester City to Goodison on Wednesday night.

"He had a knock," Ancelotti confirmed.

"[It will] not be serious.  We will check tomorrow.

"We have to check on Dominic for the game on Wednesday and also Allan and Jordan Pickford."
