Carlo Ancelotti gives assessment of Anthony Gordon's performance in Everton win over Leicester

Carlo Ancelotti says he never been worried about nerves getting the better of Anthony Gordon because he has "personality".

Gordon was handed his second Premier League last night as Everton faced Leicester City at Goodison.

And after 10 minutes, the 19-year-old vindicated Ancelotti's selection by providing the assist for Richarlison to open the scoring.

A first-time lofted pass put Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the clear soon after but the Blues' top scorer could not convert the chance.

Gordon now has five top flight appearances under his belt, all coming since Ancelotti took charge, and the Italian has never been in doubt about his ability to deliver in the top flight.

“It is important for him to show quality and above all to be confident to play," Ancelotti said.

“Usually when a young player comes in they are a bit worried.

“But Anthony has personality and did well in these two games.
