Carlo Ancelotti delivers injury update on Everton's Yerry Mina ahead of trip to Anfield

Everton expect Yerry Mina will miss Saturday's Merseyside derby after picking up an injury against Manchester City tonight.

The Colombian defender was forced off after just 18 minutes of the game at Goodison and was replaced by Seamus Coleman.

City opened the scoring just past the half hour mark before Richarlison equalised five minutes later to ensure the Blues had parity at the break.

But the league leaders scored twice after the break to win the game 3-1.

Everton finished the game with Ben Godfrey partnering Michael Keane in defence but Mason Holgate had stepped into the void left by Mina initially.

And Carlo Ancelotti is expecting to have to use either of Godfrey or Holgate at centre-back on Saturday night at Anfield.

"Mina had a problem on his calf," Ancelotti said.

"I think he will not be available for the game on Saturday."

Ancelotti is, however, hoping to have Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Allan available for the game with Liverpool.
