Carlo Ancelotti confirms huge boost for Everton ahead of Chelsea clash

Everton will have Lucas Digne available for the trip to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed.

The Frenchman has missed Everton's last two matches with a calf injury, which he sustained in the build-up to the defeat at Arsenal last month.

But the French international was pictured back in training this week with the first team ahead of the trip to Stamford Bridge, with the 26-year-old joining his team-mates on the training ground.

And Ancelotti has confirmed that he is fit for the game against Chelsea , with the Italian now having a decision to make over whether or not to start him against the Blues.

Digne did not make the squad for the 1-1 draw with Manchester United last weekend, having faced a late fitness test.

In his absence, Leighton Baines started for Everton instead, and Ancelotti will now have to decide whether to recall Digne, or continue with Baines at left-back.

However, Ancelotti has confirmed that Everton will be without Seamus Coleman for the game at Stamford Bridge, with the right-back sidelined with a muscular injury.

"Seamus Coleman is not available, he had a muscular problem," Ancelotti said.

"He will be out for two games, then we will see. [Cenk] Tosun will have surgery next week. Digne is good."

Meanwhile, Everton will also still be without long-term absentees Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Morgan Schneiderlin for the game at Stamford Bridge.
