Carlo Ancelotti confirms Everton injury boosts including Mason Holgate return

Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Mason Holgate is one of a number of players back available for the clash with Manchester United on Saturday lunchtime.

The centre-back has missed the beginning of 2020/21 so far after injuring his toe in the pre-season friendly against Preston North End in the summer.

However, after images were released of the defender back in training at USM Finch Farm on Friday, Ancelotti confirmed that the 24-year-old would be back in contention for his side this weekend.

The boss also confirmed that Lucas Digne is available once more after his suspension and that Seamus Coleman has recovered from his issue sustained against Liverpool, further bolstering his side's defensive options.

The Everton manager revealed that only Fabian Delph would miss this weekend's match through injury alongside long-term absentee Jean-Philippe Gbamin.

Ancelotti told his pre-match press conference: "We have practically all the squad available apart from Richarlison and Delph, that had a little problem yesterday.

"Just for a few days he's out, all the others are available.

"I forgot to say also Holgate is back, so it will not be easy to find the back four that are going to start tomorrow.

"But I think it's important to have experienced players, quality players. For the first time since we started the season, I had all the squad available apart from Gbamin.

"This is a good sign, this is a really good sign."
