Carlo Ancelotti has cleared up what he described as a "misunderstanding" concerning Everton's penalty against Chelsea on Saturday evening.
The Blues came out of this weekend's important match with all three points thanks to a 1-0 victory over Frank Lampard's side, with Gylfi Sigurdsson's first half spot kick proving vital.
However, there was an interesting incident in the build up to the Iceland international slotting the ball away, with Richarlison seemingly demanding that he take the responsibility instead.
Later, Everton looked to be awarded another penalty when Dominic Calvert-Lewin was brought down by Ben Chilwell before the striker was adjudged to have been offside in the build-up.
And Ancelotti described another "misunderstanding" as the players looked to be preparing for another spot kick, and revealed it was his decision on who Everton's designated taker is.
The boss said: "No no, the decision was that Gylfi Sigurdsson has to shoot the penalty.
"The second one [which was ruled out for offside], I think there was a misunderstanding, because I think he gave the ball to Dominic [Calvert-Lewin].
"But it's not Gylfi's decision, it's my decision on who is going to shoot the penalty. After that, it was offside.
"But it was a misunderstanding."

Everton put in a very strong performance on Saturday evening to secure a win, making sure Chelsea didn't get a shot on target throughout the second half.
But Ancelotti still believes Lampard's side will be challenging for the Premier League title this season, and said that the game plan for his side was clear when going into the match.
"They have a fantastic team, a fantastic squad. They are going to fight at the title for the end for sure, also in the Champions League they have a possibility," he added.
"It's a young squad, maybe sometimes they don't have maybe the experience to manage a difficult game.
"But it's only this. Their quality is top.
"The match that we prepared was quite clear. Defend well, good, strong and use the counter-attack. That was the game that we prepared."
