Carlo Ancelotti admits 'impossible' to replace Richarlison as he makes Everton tactics admission

Carlo Ancelotti admits it is "impossible" to find a like-for-like replacement Richarlison and says Everton have to change their game-plan when he's out.

The Brazilian serves the last of his three-match ban tomorrow as the Blues welcome Manchester United to Goodison in the lunchtime kick-off (12:30pm).

Everton have yet to win a Premier League game when Richarlison is absent and have lost the first two games of his ban - at Southampton and Newcastle - after he was sent off in the Merseyside derby last month.

Richarlison will return to the Everton side on November 21 when the Blues go to Fulham.

Alex Iwobi was picked as his replacement for the trip to Southampton but Ancelotti started last weekend's game against Newcastle United with all three of the squad's available wingers on the bench.

The Everton boss - who has been linked with wanting to bring the "fantastic" Isco to Goodison - insists he is happy with options in back-up to Richarlison and James Rodriguez, who also missed the Newcastle game.

But Ancelotti says there is "no player in the world" who can fully make-up for Richarlison's absence and says he has to set the team up differently when he's unavailable.

“Yes," he replied, when asked if he was happy with his options.

"We have 22 players and we have covered all the positions. Of course we have to... it is impossible to replace Richarlison.

"There is no player in the world like Richarlison. So we have to replace him with another player with different quality.

"We have to change a little bit our style of play without Richarlison, but the defeat was not because Richarlison was not there.

"It was because we did not play well. Simple.”

Everton's record without Richarlison in league games stands at four draws and three defeats.
