Carlo Ancelotti admits desire to stay at Everton for Bramley-Moore stadium debut

Carlo Ancelotti has admitted he still wants to be Everton manager when the club move into their proposed Bramley-Moore Dock stadium.

The Blues took a significant leap towards a new waterfront ground on Tuesday as their application was approved by a unanimous decision by a Liverpool City Council planning committee.

The plans have now been referred to the Secretary of State, who has until March 17th to decide whether the proposals will be called in for higher Government scrutiny.

In response to the hugely positive news, Ancelotti has revealed that he would love to lead Everton out at Bramley-Moore Dock and reiterated that he wants to stay with the club for as long as possible.

The boss told his pre-Southampton press conference: "I would like to be there when the new stadium opens, it will be a good achievement for me of course!

"I think to finish the contract here until 2024 means that you did a good job, and when you did a good job the contract will not be stopped in 2024, I think it continues.

"So for sure I think that for the time that I've spent here, I felt and I feel good.

"I would like to stay as long as possible."

The stadium update has been part of a week of brilliant news for Everton following their first win at Anfield in 22 years at the weekend, with Lucas Digne signing a new long-term contract with the club on Wednesday.

However, Ancelotti admitted he has not had time to speak to any supporters on Crosby beach to get their thoughts!

"In the last few days there's been a lot of good news, we are working to keep the good news every day," he added.

"They [the fans] didn't talk to me, unfortunately we don't have the possibility to talk.

"I went outside only one time, biking. But I bike really fast so it's difficult to catch me!"
