Carlo Ancelotti accepts FA charge after Manchester United red card as touchline decision made

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has accepted a charge of misconduct from the FA after his red card following a 1-1 draw with Manchester United on Sunday.

The Italian has been fined £8,000 for the incident but has not received a touchline ban, meaning he will be in the dugout for this weekend's trip to former club Chelsea.

The boss came onto the pitch at the end of the game to confront referee Chris Kavanagh after seeing his side controversially have a late goal from Dominic Calvert-Lewin ruled out as Gylfi Sigurdsson was adjudged to be offside and affecting the view of David De Gea.

Ancelotti was then shown a red card by the official and was charged with misconduct by the FA on Monday. The manager had until 6pm on Thursday to respond, but has done so earlier than required to accept.

And FA statement reads: "Carlo Ancelotti has been fined £8,000 for a breach of FA Rule E3 during the Premier League fixture against Manchester United FC on Sunday 1 March 2020.

"The Everton FC manager admitted that his language and/or behaviour on the field of play at the end of the fixture amounted to improper conduct and also accepted the standard penalty."

The Italian will be on the touchline for Everton's trip to Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
