Carlisle boss reveals what Elias Sorensen has 'added to his game' during loan from Newcastle United

Newcastle United striker Elias Sorensen is improving all the time at Carlisle United - according to Stephen Pressley.

The Danish Under-21 international played from the start in Carlisle's 2-1 win against Blackpool in the Leasing.com Trophy in midweek but could return to the bench for the long trip to Plymouth Argyle this weekend in League Two.

But after getting some much-needed game-time under his belt in the victory at Brunton Park, Pressley said this week: "Elias worked exceptionally hard in the first half and at times didn’t get his rewards, but he kept doing it and doing it.

"He went on to have an exceptional second half and I’m pleased with the way he’s coming round and with the way he’s progressing.

"He showed great bravery but, in football, it’s amazing, because the harder you work the better you perform.

"That’s the bottom line and I think that one of the things he’s added to his game is his out of possession work.

"We’ve worked on that with him and on his understanding of his roles and responsibilities, and he’s doing it to great effect.

"As the game went on he got stronger and stronger and I’m really pleased with what he did for us."
