Carl Starfelt asking price revealed as Celtic step up move for Swedish defender

Celtic have been told what they must pay to sign Swedish defender Carl Starfelt this summer as they look to bring him to Glasgow.

The centre back has emerged as Ange Postecoglou's top target for the summer transfer window with Celtic looking to sign him as a Kristoffer Ajer replacement.

The centre back is currently with Rubin Kazan in Russia and they have told the Hoops they want a fee in the region of £4million if they are to sell him.

The Russian outfit don't want to lose Starfelt and have set a big asking price for Celtic, with Postecoglou aware he needs to strengthen his defence.

The Celtic Park outfit have added Osaze Urgoghide ahead of their opening pre-season clash with Sheffield Wednesday in Wales this afternoon.

The youngster joined from the Owls and could make his first appearance in the Hoops against his old side, as could midfielder Liam Shaw.

A replacement for Ajer is one of their main targets for the summer with the Norwegian defender looking to leave the club this summer.

It's believed Norwich are to bid a £12m move for him and are confident of sealing a permanent move for the centre back ahead of their return to Premier League.
