Aug. 20--Carl Sagan is made of star stuff. Well, we all are, but it is the late astrophysicist who shared that lesson with TV audiences who is getting a biopic.
Hero Complex can confirm Warner Bros. is developing a film about Sagan with Ann Druyan, Lynda Obst and Zach Dean attached to the project.
Originally reported in Variety, the untitled drama will be produced by Druyan, Sagan's widow, who most recently was a writer and executive producer for the 2014 TV miniseries "Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey," and Obst, who served as a producer on "Contact" and "Interstellar."

Sagan, who wrote and hosted the award-winning 1980 series "Cosmos," is also known for his work to popularize science and his contributions to the research for extraterrestrial life. The scientist was also an author, penning books including the novel "Contact" and the Pulitzer Prize-winning "The Dragons of Eden."
And of course, if ever any advanced space-faring civilization encounters Voyager 1 in interstellar space, Sagan would be among those to thank for sharing the sights and sounds from Earth.
Dean, who wrote 2012's sibling crime thriller "Deadfall," has been tapped to write the script. Details of the plot have yet to be released.
