Carl Froch says he would 'smash' Conor McGregor's head in as social media row rumbles on

Former boxing world champion Carl Froch has claimed he would 'smash Conor McGregor's head in' if the two were ever to face off in a fight.

The pair have gone back-and-forth on social media in recent months with the Irishman on one occasion stating that he could beat both Froch and George Groves in an MMA fight at the same time.

Froch hasn't taken too kindly to McGregor's claims and reckons if McGregor were to take on Froch and Groves, it wouldn't end well for the Dubliner.

Speaking on his podcast with Groves, Froch said, "“Me and George Groves at the same time?

"Are you sure? Have you seen the size of George?

"No disrespect to George. But literally I’d pepper you with the jab, maybe hit you with one right hand.

“Actually, no, if I hit you with one right hand then the fight’s over. Let’s just say George Groves ends up on the ground with you and he rolls on top of you, then what are you gonna do?

"The fight would be done. Then I could just smash your head in while George Groves lies on you.

“Yeah if you fancy that, I’ll take that. Eddie Hearn, let’s get it made.”

During their boxing days, Froch and Groves were arch rivals and fought each other twice, with Froch winning on both occasions. 'The Cobra' hasn't fought since knocking out Groves at Wembley Stadium in 2014, while Groves retired in 2018 after losing to Callum Smith.

McGregor on the other hand hasn't fought since breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier in their July 2021 fight. The Notorious is slated to return to the Octagon later this year when he takes on Michael Chandler.
