Carl Froch rips up list containing YouTube star Jake Paul in angry fight call-out

Carl Froch has ripped up a list that classified "clown" Jake Paul as a boxer as he once again renewed his call-out to the YouTube star.

Paul has launched a career in the boxing ring and has won his six professional fights since making the switch from the world of content creation to fighting. In his most recent victory, 'The Problem Child' defeated UFC legend Anderson Silva by decision as he continues to try and step up his competition.

Froch, who has been a frequent critic of the YouTuber's venture in the squared circle, has called out Paul to a fight in the past and has vowed to exit his long-term retirement to step back in the ring. During a recent appearance on his rival George Groves' Boxing Club podcast, Froch was handed a list of boxers which included the name of the American star.

He clearly became angered upon stumbling across the name and tore the list into shredded pieces before bursting into an angry rant. He said: “Jake Paul is a clown. Such a f***ing idiot. What a ponce. He’s not even a fighter. He shouldn’t be on this list. You’ve disgraced this list. It’s disgusting you have even put him on this list of boxers.”

Paul has been heavily criticised by many inside the traditional boxing world who are unhappy with the emergence of influencers in the sport. The YouTube star has also had his credentials questioned given his lack of opponents from a boxing background, but this could change if he meets Tommy Fury in February, as planned.

Froch himself has frequently called for a fight with Paul despite being aged 45 and not competing since defeating Groves in a huge rematch in 2014. The former world champion has even suggested he would be willing to fight Paul's brother, Loganl on the same night.

What do you make of Jake Paul's boxing career? Let us know in the comments section below.

"If I could have one last fight, it would be Jake Paul," the Brit said on William Hill's Stripped podcast. "I'd absolutely smash him to bits, easy. Jake Paul can't fight, he's pretending, he's conning people. He's got his audience, I don't begrudge him – he's making money and doing what he's doing. But he's not a professional boxer.

"[Jake Paul] knows not to come anywhere near me. He's bigger than me – he's 14 stone – he's younger than me, he's fresher, he thinks he can fight. I wouldn't even train for this guy; I'd do a little bit of training, I might do the odd little run to get the heart beating, but I'd take Jake Paul to school and hammer him. He knows it, he wouldn't fight me. No chance.

"I'd fight him and his brother on the same night. What they could do is take it in turns, so Jake can do round one, Logan can do round two. So, they're having a four-minute breather between rounds. It's never been done, it's exhibition boxing. I'd take them both on."
