Carl Frampton vs Jamel Herring: Channel 5 to show live coverage of WBO super-featherweight title fight

Carl Frampton’s delayed world title clash against American Jamel Herring this weekend will be shown live on free-to-air television in the United Kingdom.

Former super-bantamweight and featherweight title-holder Frampton will bid to become Ireland’s first three-weight world champion when he fights for the WBO super-featherweight belt in Dubai on Saturday night.

And boxing fans in the UK will be able to catch the action from the Rotunda Caesars Palace live on Channel 5, with coverage beginning at 10pm BST.

“Absolutely delighted that my fight will be shown to the masses on free to air TV,” Frampton tweeted on Wednesday. “It is where the sport of boxing should be shown, accessible to everyone in the country.

“Having the potential of millions being able to watch me make history is truly special. Thank you.”

Frampton vs Herring was originally scheduled for London’s Copper Box Arena on February 27, only for a hand injury suffered by ‘The Jackal’ to cause a postponement.
