Carl Frampton next fight to take place in Las Vegas as Jackal outlines plans

Carl Frampton has confirmed his next fight will be in Las Vegas.

The Jackal is back in training ahead of his eagerly-anticipated ring return.

He hasn't fought since losing to Josh Warrington in December last year for the Leeds fighter's IBF world featherweight title.

Frampton was due to return last month in Philadelphia but suffered a freak injury after a falling ornament landed on his hand four days before his bout with Emmanuel Dominguez.

But he's on the road back again.

The 32-year-old got fans talking on Wednesday when he posted a cryptic tweet: 'Viva Las Vegas'.

And now the North Belfast fighter has announced his next bout will take place in Sin City.

Speaking to IFLTV, the former two-weight world champion said: "My next fight? I don't know how much I can say. I said Viva Las Vegas because my next fight will be Vegas. I love the place and it will be great to go back out there again.

"Hopefully we can make an official announcement soon."

As for an opponent, Ghana-born Londoner Isaac Dogboe remains firmly in the frame, with the Cosmopolitan Hotel on the Las Vegas strip rumoured to be a potential venue on November 30.

The card could also feature former WBO featherweight world champion Oscar Valdez who is now campaigning at super-featherweight.

"Isaac Dogboe is a potential opponent, but still not completed. I have a definite date but an opponent isn't over the line," Frampton added.

"There are a few names floating about, and Dogboe is one of them. But it has to be a very meaningful fight. For ESPN, who want a good and exciting fight. Me and Dogboe would be a great fight, but if it is not him there has to be a good opponent."

Valdez remains a potential opponent down the line for Frampton, or Shakur Stevenson who is set to fight for the vacant WBO featherweight belt against Joet Gonzalez on October 26.

Frampton insists he will fight any world champion at either 126 or 130lbs.

"Oscar Valdez would be an exciting fight. One that makes sense for both of us, but who knows," the Jackal said.

He added: "The landscape is changing all the time. You have Valdez and (Leo) Santa Cruz moving up (in weight). You have Shakur Stevenson who I believe will become a champion in his next fight. If he is a champion I would take him on.

"I would happily fight any champion at 126 or 130lbs."
