Carl Frampton and Shane McGuigan come face-to-face in awkward exchange

Carl Frampton and his former trainer Shane McGuigan came face to face in an awkward exchange.

The Belfast boxer ran into his former trainer today ahead of him joining the corner of fellow Irish boxer Tommy McCarthy for his fight against Chris Billam-Smith in Brentwood, Essex.

Carl settled a court case against Shane's father Barry McGuigan, who was Carl's manager, last year.

A video has emerged on social media of the chance encounter, where Shane begins by calling Carl "such a child" for "going all the way over here" to Essex for the fight.

Before Carl quickly states back to him that he was there to "be in his mate's corner" as the bucket or water boy and noting that he is "a very good one as well".

The video finishes with Shane chuckling about the meeting and calling Carl a "fool".

Frampton became a two-weight world champion under McGuigan's guidance before they split in August 2017.

The fallout continued when both sides took legal action against each other in a highly publicised court battle.

The multi-million pound legal case was settled back in November, with Frampton claiming that he was "extremely happy" with the outcome.
