Chicago police are warning Near West Side residents of three carjackings reported in one day last week.

In each incident, someone approached the victims as they were entering or near their vehicle, flashed a weapon and fled the scene in their vehicle, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

The carjackings happened July 13 in the 3000 block of West Walnut Street, the 2000 block of West Jackson Boulevard and the 800 block of South Bell Avenue, police said.

Police believe two people are involved in these crimes.

Anyone with information is asked to call Area Central detectives at 312-747-8380.
