Police are investigating two carjackings — one unsuccessful — Tuesday evening in west suburban Naperville.
Officers were called at 8 p.m. to the call of a woman carjacked in the parking lot of Costco, 1320 S. Rt. 59, according to a statement from Naperville police.
Two young men approached the woman and told her to get out the vehicle. They drove off in her 2019 VW Tiguan, police said. The suspects didn’t show or imply a weapon, and the woman was uninjured.
A third suspect drove off in a blue or gray vehicle, possibly a Honda Pilot, police said.
Twenty minutes earlier, another woman showed up at the Naperville police station to report an attempted carjacking at Old Navy, 220 S. Rt. 59.
Two young men pulled up along side her vehicle in a mid-sized SUV, and one of them stepped out and tried to enter her vehicle, police said. She locked her doors and drove away.
