Caring Wishaw sister is this week’s ‘Say It With Flowers’ recipient

A 37-year-old beauty therapist who goes "above and beyond" for her family has been thanked by her two grateful sisters, Jennifer and Amy.

Nominating her older sister, Lisa Dunsmore, for our Say it with Flowers feature, Jennifer Howard told Lanarkshire Live: “Lisa is a fantastic big sister. She has done so much for me and my younger sister Amy.

“She looked after me and my sister when we were small after my mum passed away almost 19 years ago.

Lisa explained: “She took care of us. I’ve now got two children of my own, Ethan and Joshua, and when my children were younger, Lisa looked after them.”

Kind-hearted Lisa, who lives in Craigneuk with her son Reagan, has devoted her life to raising her son, as well as always being there and caring for her two younger siblings.

The full-time mum has worked as a beauty therapist at Alternative Beauty in Young Street, Wishaw, for more than 13 years, after qualifying from Motherwell College.

Jennifer told us: “The main reason I nominated Lisa for the award is because she is always there for us. And now as adults we appreciate all that she has done for us.”

And when Jennifer told us about her amazing sister, we were thrilled to be able to help, surprising her with a stunning floral display, courtesy of our friends at Pixies Petals in Newmains.

On receiving the flowers Lisa told us: “I was over the moon and want to thank Jennifer so much for nominating me and to the Wishaw Press for running the competition and Pixies Petals for the beautiful flowers.

"Both Jennifer and Amy have given me as much as I have given them.

“We are a team and they have helped me through the years since my mum passed away almost 19 years ago.

“We are so close and have helped each other. My mum would be so proud of them.
