Having won the Grade Two Charlie Hall Chase with Fusil Raffles at Wetherby at the weekend, the same connections could bid for more success as Caribean Boy heads the 22 entries for this Saturday's Betway Grand Sefton Chase at Aintree Racecourse.
Trainer Nicky Henderson, owners Simon Munir and Isaac Souede and jockey Daryl Jacob teamed up to land the Grade Two feature in West Yorkshire, with Fusil Raffles profiting from the fall of Shan Blue to score.
They could now head to Merseyside this weekend with a big chance of more glory in the 2m4f feature race at Aintree, run over the Randox Grand National fences.
Caribean Boy heads the weights at 11st12lb and also the betting - he's a best-priced 6-1 with William Hill, BetVictor and Betfred.
The seven-year-old will be having a second crack at the famous Aintree obstacles, having been pulled up behind Livelovelaugh in the Randox Topham Chase at the Grand National Festival in April.
He had previously won at Haydock Park in 2019, but could only finish seventh in the Paddy Power Plate at the Cheltenham Festival prior to his last trip to Aintree.
Also among the entries for the Grand Sefton is Jonjo O'Neill's Midlands Grand National winner Time To Get Up.
The eight-year-old has not been seen since that victory at Uttoxeter in March and is a best-priced 10-1 chance to make a winning return at Aintree.
Alan King's Senior Citizen - who is an 8-1 chance with William Hill - could line up at Aintree following his win at Market Rasen last month.
Jamie Snowden's 2019 Grand Sefton winner Hogan's Height - who finished 12th behind Minella Times in the Grand National itself - could also have another crack at the big obstacles which he clearly enjoys.
Now a 10-year-old he is entered again and is a 12-1 chance with most bookmakers.
Other entries include Mister Whitaker - a new recruit for Merseyside-born Grand National winner Donald McCain; Paul Nicholls' Cat Tiger, who is a best-priced 10-1 with William Hill; the Gary Moore-trained A Toi Phil - who finished 12th in the 2019 Grand National and is a best-priced 12-1; and Emma Lavelle's Manofthemountain, who was second at Chepstow on his return last month.
Also on the Aintree card Summerville Boy could make his return from injury and try to defend his crown in the Betway Hurdle.
The Tom George-trained nine-year-old is among the 10 initial entries for the 2m4f contest.
He hasn't run since he was fifth McFabulous in the Grade Two Relkeel Hurdle in January, which was moved to Kempton from Cheltenham after Trials Day was abandoned.
George said: “We’ve not seen him for a long time. He’s going back to Aintree for the race he won there last year. He won that last season, and then the Relkeel Hurdle was abandoned and they ran it at Kempton - the track didn’t suit him, he picked up an injury and he hasn’t run since then.
“He’s fine now, and we’re looking forward to getting him back on track. Two and a half miles is his optimum, and he’s in good form and working well, so we’re going back to Aintree.”
Also entered is the lightly-raced Dusart from the Henderson stable, Olly Murphy’s Grade Two winner Brewin’upastorm and the Rebecca Curtis-trained 2020 Stayers’ Hurdle hero Lisnagar Oscar - who was last seen finishing eighth in the Ryanair (Liverpool) Stayers' Hurdle at Aintree in April.
Dusart is William Hill and Unibet's 5-2 favourite with Summerville Boy 4-1 with the sponsors, William Hill and Skybet.
Saturday's seven-race card at Aintree begins with The Betway ‘NH’ Novices’ Hurdle, which starts at 12.33pm with the finale, the Betway ‘Junior’ Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race, scheduled for 3.55pm.
Gates open at 10.30am with advance tickets starting at £20. There are hospitality packages available from £90.
