A Liverpool restaurant has been named among the best serving Caribbean food in the UK.
Big 7 Travel has revealed its top 25 Caribbean restaurants across the UK, with Raggas Caribbean Cafe in South Liverpool coming in at number 16.
The family-run Smithdown Road restaurant serves up authentic Caribbean cuisine such as Jamaican jerk chicken, stewed steak and sweet potato and boneless tilapia fish.
Big 7 Travel said: “Fresh authentic flavours and innovative twists on classic recipes makes it stand out.
“The stewed steak with sweet potatoes is heavenly, as it their West Indian-style chicken curry.”
Raggas has a 4 star rating on TripAdvisor and recent reviewers have dubbed it a “brilliant eatery and bar”.
One reviewer said: “The food is excellent and good and spicy, great range of Jamaican beers and of course rum and rum cocktails.”
Another added: “Felt like I was on a beach in Jamaica! Nice and bright both on the outside and inside with upbeat reggae playing. Nice staff, good service, yummy food.”
Raggas is open from Monday to Saturday from 12pm to 10pm.
