A care home cook has been told by vaccination centre staff that he is the one of the youngest people in the country to receive the Covid-19 vaccine so far.
Ryan Bromley, from Farnworth, believes he could be 'the youngest male' to have received the vaccine at just 16-years-old and 10 months.
Ryan spends his weekdays training for joining the army through a military preparation colleges.
But on Monday, the teenager started a new weekend job to earn him some pocket money.
Ryan joined staff at Windsor House Care Home in Standish as a cook making meals for residents.
The position came with the news that, as a care worker, he could get a coronavirus vaccine.
Ryan booked his jab on Monday and then attended his appointment on Wednesday - only to be told that he 'is one of the youngest' to get their dose.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News , Ryan said: "I got the job in January and started on Monday.
"When I arrived, they told me I could get the Pfizer vaccine as it is safe for 16-year-olds and over.
"I was a little bit nervous because I don't like needles but I'm really happy I've had the vaccine now.
"My next dose is going to be in around 21 days."
Ryan believes he might be 'the youngest male' to have received the vaccine thus far, after reading a BBC story of a 16-year-old girl who also got the jab.
