A care home in Liverpool has shut down, with bosses saying they could not afford to keep it open.
The decision to close Arundel Park Residential and Nursing Home on Sefton Park Road was made with a “heavy heart”, according to provider Sanctuary Care.
The care home was registered under its current provider in July 2020 and was not inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) after this date.

But in the care home’s most recent inspection, which took place under the previous provider Sanctuary Care (Wellcare) Limited in August 2019, it was rated as ‘good’, the second best of the four possible ratings the CQC can give.
Talking about Arundel Park’s closure, Sarah Clarke-Kuehn, group director of Sanctuary Care, said: “We made the decision to close Arundel Park with a heavy heart.
“Sadly, it was simply not financially viable for us to continue to run this home when providing the high quality care we believe all our residents deserve.”
Ms Clarke-Kuehn added: “We worked with our residents and their relatives and found a new care home for them, which for many was our neighbouring homes Willow Gardens in Bootle, or Prince Alfred in Liverpool.
“Our priority is and continues to be making sure our residents are happy and settled in their new homes.”
A spokesperson for Liverpool Council confirmed that representatives for the care home said last month that it would close and confirmed that all of its residents have been relocated.
They added: “There is currently capacity in Liverpool’s care home market and we were able to find the right placement for all residents.”
