Care group seeks 100 new employees as part of Nottinghamshire growth

Up to 100 jobs will be up for grabs at a Nottinghamshire care firm which helps people live independently in their own homes.

Caremark Broxtowe and Erewash, headquartered in Long Eaton, will be predominantly hiring care staff as it aims to boost the hours of care it provides each week to 2,000.

The firm's bosses say there has been an increase in demand across the two boroughs recently and hiring employees is needed to achieve its goals.

Managing director Raj Solanki said: "There is growing demand for home care services as the Government strives to reduces hospital admissions and with people preferring, understandably, to remain in their own homes, rather than going into residential care.

“This is against a backdrop of rising life expectancy which means that by 2024, there will be more over 65 year olds than under 15 year olds.

“The need for home care is therefore only going to increase and the fact we have doubled the number of care hours we provide each week in the last 12 months is evidence of this.

“We want to be able to meet the demand, whether publicly or privately funded, for home care in our area but to do this, we need to recruit the best people.”

The support provided by Caremark Broxtowe and Erewash includes helping with meals and household chores through to caring for people with disabilities.

The firm, founded by Mr Solanki in 2015, cares for privately-funded clients but is also an approved provider for Nottinghamshire County Council and can deliver services to authority-funded people.

It currently employs more than 60 employees but is aiming to more than double this, with the jobs being created being for home carers.

Mr Solanki added: "We want to grow in the right way so that means we won’t take on extra work until we have the right people in place to provide the high-quality care expected of us.

"This means having carers who enjoy their work and see caring as a career and not just a job.

"We are a local company employing local people and our mission is to provide a local service which can make a difference to those who have chosen to remain in their own home, ensuring they receive personal care which helps them to be independent, secure and retain their dignity."
