Cardinals WR Kevin White regrets not having Jerry Sullivan coach him before

The Arizona Cardinals are getting some extra help in the offseason with their receivers. Jerry Sullivan, who used to be the team’s receivers coach years ago, is working with the team during the spring.

Larry Fitzgerald has always thought very highly of him. New Cardinals receiver Kevin White, signed to a one-year free agent contract this offseason, was told by Fitzgerald after he was drafted he should work with Sullivan.

He never did and wishes he had.

“I kind of regret not using him,” he said on the Cardinals Cover 2 show. “Since I was a rookie, Larry told me, ‘Man, work with Jerry Sullivan. I just never got around to it. We tried to do it two years ago and last year he had to take the job at LSU, so we just never got around and it never really worked out, but I’m fortunate enough and blessed to have him now.”

White is working hard on his technique.

“Just basically having my technique down pat on every play,” he said. “Can’t be just a sometimer because if you have bad technique, all the God-given talent I have is basically out of the works.”

He also said it has been difficult to do. “For the past years, you create bad habits and they are not easily broken, but one day at a time, by the season, they will be broken.”
