Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins has knee injury, seeking 2nd opinion

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins had to exit the game on Monday night against the Los Angeles Rams in the final minutes. While initially, the team did not seem overly concerned about how severe it might be, things appear to be less than ideal.

After having an MRI on Tuesday for what head coach Kliff Kingsbury called a leg injury, Hopkins is seeking a second opinion.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Hopkins has a knee injury and missed Wednesday’s walkthrough seeking a second opinion and that he is in danger of missing the Cardinals’ game Sunday.

Kingsbury spoke to reporters Wednesday and could not give more information than that. When asked if Hopkins has a chance of playing on Sunday against the Detroit Lions, Kingsbury said, “I won’t know until he gets back with that second opinion.

“We’ll wait until we see.”

Hopkins has already missed three games this season. He had only previously missed two his entire career and never more than one in any season.

If he misses more time, it will be a big blow to the Cardinals for a potential playoff run.
