Cardinals WR coach David Raih describes WR Andy Isabella

Wide receiver Andy Isabella, one of the Arizona Cardinals’ two second-round draft picks, is one of the most intriguing new players the tea, has added in the offseason. He is small. He is incredibly fast and his production in college was ridiculous, gaining nearly 1,700 yards his last season at UMass.

His new position coach, Cardinals wide receivers coach David Raih, spoke about Isabella as a player on the Coaches Chronicle podcast.

“He’s a ball of muscle and he can flat out go,” Raih said of Isabella. “His size and stature is a little deceiving.”

The team sees him playing mostly in the slot.

“He’s an inside player,” Riah continued. ‘He’s tough and he’s diligent and smart. He loves football.”

He anticipates Isabella will make plays, calling him a “dependable guy who can light up the middle of the field.”

Adding him to a mix at receiver that includes future Hall of Famer Larry Fitzgerald and second-year player Christian Kirk, the Cardinals should be much more fun to watch on offense than they were a season ago.
