Cardinals’ win over Bengals has surprising connection to Bidwills

The Arizona Cardinals lost owner Bill Bidwill this last week, as he died at age 88 this past week. They honored him with a helmet decal with his initials and his signature bowtie. They also won the game, a 26-23 last-second victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.

The team wanted to win the game for the Bidwill family. The win ended up having a surprising connection to the Bidwill family, as Mark Dalton, the team’s VP of media relations, shared on social media.

The Cardinals’ first official win after the Bidwill family purchased the team was in Cincinnati in 1933. The final score was 3-0.

Bill Bidwill was 2 years old.

The Cardinals’ first win after Bidwill’s death is a win in Cincinnati, also a three-point win.

The team wanted a win to honor their late owner. They got it.

An even better way to honor him would be to keep winning in the weeks to come.
