The Arizona Cardinals played 60 defensive snaps on Sunday in their 23-17 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Let’s see how the playing time was divided up and what we can take away from it.
Defensive line

Corey Peters, 44; Zach Kerr, 39; Miles Brown, 25; Rodney Gunter, 21; Michael Dogbe, 21
Gunter’s playing time went down as he left the game with an ankle injury. That meant more time for Kerr and Brown. Dogbe also played a season-high in snaps.
Linebackers

Chandler Jones, 60; Jordan Hicks, 60; Joe Walker, 60; Terrell Suggs, 46; Tanner Vallejo, 16; Cassius Marsh, 14; Haason Reddick, 5
Jones played every snap. He normally gets a few snaps off. Vallejo got some work in a special defensive package. They used five linebackers, three inside, giving the defense a big eight-man front. Marsh saw a drop in playing time after playing over 40 snaps last week. Reddick got his first work at outside linebacker.
Defensive back

Patrick Peterson, 59; Budda Baker, 59; Byron Murphy, 45; Jalen Thompson, 38; Kevin Peterson, 27; Chris Banjo, 15
The secondary had a different look on Sunday. Banjo came in the game when Vallejo also came in as a third inside linebacker. That meant Patrick Peterson was the only cornerback on the field as Byron Murphy and Jalen Thompson would come out.
