The Arizona Cardinals played 79 defensive snaps on Sunday in their 34-7 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. How was the playing time divided up and what does it mean?
Defensive line

Rodney Gunter, 50; Corey Peters, 49; Zach Kerr, 39; Jonathan Bullard, 21; Miles Brown, 20
Bullard would have played more but got hurt during the game. Brown’s 20 snaps were likely the result of that.
Linebackers

Joe Walker, 79; Jordan Hicks, 79; Chandler Jones, 75; Cassius Marsh, 45; Terrell Suggs, 42; Haason Reddick, 1
Walker completely replaced Reddick in the lineup. Reddick’s one snap was in a goalline package and he gave up the touchdown to tight end Tyler Higbee. Marsh played more than Suggs, who did nothing in 42 snaps.
Defensive backs

Byron Murphy, 79; Patrick Peterson, 79; Budda Baker, 77; Tramaine Brock, 57; Jalen Thompson, 50; Deionte Thompson, 27
The Cardinals were in nickel in 57 of the 79 snaps. The Cardinals played goalline on two plays, which is why Baker and the combination of the two Thompsons played 77 of 79 snaps.
