The Arizona Cardinals played 77 defensive snaps on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. Let’s see how the playing time was split up and what it means.
Defensive line

Corey Peters, 58; Rodney Gunter, 58; Zach Kerr, 45; Michael Dogbe, 18; Miles Brown, 18
Dogbe played a career-high 18 snaps and Kerr played the most since he signed with the team. That was because Jonathan Bullard missed the game. Peters continues to play more than he probably should at his age.
Linebackers

Jordan Hicks, 77; Chandler Jones, 75; Terrell Suggs, 49; Joe Walker, 43; Haason Reddick, 35; Cassius Marsh, 30; Pete Robertson, 2
Jones barely comes off the field. The Cardinals were in goalline defense once, as Walker and Reddick were on the field for one play together.
Defensive backs

Budda Baker, 77; Patrick Peterson, 76; Jalen Thompson, 76; Byron Murphy, 73; Kevin Peterson, 34; Chris Banjo, 1
Banjo comes in for goalline sets. Thompson got all the snaps. Deionte Thompson didn’t play. It would appear that Jalen has proven he is worth playing every snap.
