Cardinals to induct Carson Palmer into Ring of Honor

All it took was one year of retirement for the Arizona Cardinals to add quarterback Carson Palmer to the hallowed Ring of Honor. The team announced Tuesday he will be honored at halftime of their home game against the Seattle Seahawks on Sept. 29.

in his five-year tenure with the team, Palmer went 38-21-1, a winning percentage of .642, which is the best in franchise history. His 38 wins as a starter are behind only Neil Lomax (47 wins) and Jim Hart (87 wins). Lomax played eight seasons for the Cardinals, and Hart played 18.

A captain all five seasons he was with the team, Palmer led the Cardinals to a franchise-best 13 wins in 2015 and took them to the NFC title game.

His 105 touchdown passes while with Arizona are fourth in team history. He set single-season team records for passing yards (4,671) and touchdown passes (35) in 2015. His interception rate of 2.0 percent that year is the lowest of any season for a quarterback playing in at least 10 games.

He will be the 18th member of the Ring of Honor and only the third quarterback, joining Hart and Kurt Warner. The other 15 members are: Charles W. Bidwill Sr. (owner), Jimmy Conzelman (coach), T Dan Dierdorf, HB John “Paddy” Driscoll, HB/DB Marshall Goldberg, WR Roy Green, CB Dick “Night Train” Lane, HB Ollie Matson, HB Ernie Nevers, S Pat Tillman, HB Charley Trippi, CB Roger Wehrli, CB Aeneas Williams, S Adrian Wilson and S Larry Wilson.
