Cardinals still ‘feel good’ about both Jordan Mills, Justin Murray at RT

The Arizona Cardinals, through three games, have started two different players at right tackle. Justin Murray started the first two games of the season after getting claimed off waivers. Then, in Week 3, it was Jordan Mills, whom they signed in Week 2.

While Murray was okay in Week 1, he appeared to struggle in Week 2 and Mills also appeared to struggle in Week 3, a 38-20 loss to the Carolina Panthers in which quarterback Kyler Murray was sacked eight times.

Mills and Murray both played in Week 3. Murray played for one drive in the first half.

Head coach Kliff Kingsbury is still content with what he has in both players.

“We feel good about both guys,” he told reporters on Monday.

He did not go into detail about the struggles that Mills had against the Panthers but suggested part of the problem was the time off he had before being signed.

“He did get fatigued towards the end, but initially, I thought he had some nice plays and really did a nice job in the run game,” Kingsbury said.

If fatigue was an issue, then this suggests things should improve in the coming games, assuming Mills remains in the starting lineup.

Kingsbury seems to have left the door open for either player to start but, at least for now, Mills will probably be the guy in the lineup.
