Cardinals stay No. 5 in latest USA TODAY power rankings

The Arizona Cardinals are one of only a few unbeaten teams remaining in the NFL and have a critical matchup this weekend against the Los Angeles Rams, who also are undefeated this season.

They were No. 5 in USA TODAY’s power rankings after their Week 2 win over the Minnesota Vikings. After a come-from-behind 31-19 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 3, they find themselves still there at No. 5 in the latest power rankings from USA TODAY’s Nate Davis.

Whatever suspicions their 3-0 start might have sown will be tested over the next three weeks as Arizona face the Rams and Browns on the road while hosting the 49ers in between those dates.

This is true. The Cardinals were expected to beat the Vikings and the Jaguars. They surprised with their win over the Titans in Week 1. Now, ideally, they should win two of their next three games to be considered still one of the top teams in the league.

That will be tough, as the Cardinals have not beaten the Rams since 2016.

But at 3-0, they legitimately should be considered a top team in the league right now until they show everyone otherwise.

The Rams, their next opponent, are No. 1 in these power rankings, while the 49ers are 15th and the Browns are No. 3.
