The starting defense for the Arizona Cardinals did not allow any points in their one series in their preseason opener. However, they didn’t look good. A forced fumble masked the fact they were gashed in the running game by the Los Angeles Chargers.
In their second preseason game, this time against the Oakland Raiders, things did not improve.
They played two series and gave up 10 points.
They forced only one third down, left receivers wide open and gave up another 30 yards on the ground on seven carries.
In all, it was two possessions, 126 yards and 10 points.
It is only the preseason, but nothing the starters have done indicates they will be any good by the time the season begins.
